Stephen A. Martin Ph.D., MPH, is responsible for public health programs and services in suburban Cook County, ranging from bioterrrorism preparedness; disease prevention, control and epidemiology; health statistics; health promotion; maternal, child, adolescent, and women’s health; refugee health; STD/HIV; nutrition services; violence prevention; and environmental licensing, inspections and complaints.
Dr. Martin holds a B.S. and a M.P.H. from Tulane University and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American College of Epidemiology; American Public Health Association, Society for Epidemiologic Research, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, and Cook County Bureau of Health Services Scientific Committee.
